AIM : Effect of amino acid supplementation on birth weight. Material & Methods : Estimated fetal weight by level III ultrasonography of all patientsattending Antenatal OPD (i.e. at around 32wks) was performed. If the estimated fetal weight was below required weight on USG for that gestational age, they were admitted and given amino acid infusion (5 doses). After delivery birth weight was calculated All neonatal complications if any were noted. Discussion : By additional nutritional supplementation one is able to achieve adequate intrauterine growth which is reflected as improved fetal weight. This in turn improves the outcome of small for gestational age babies.
