Objective :To study the effect of 1:Injection oxytocin in umbilical vein and 2.Placental blood drainage on the duration and amount of blood lost in third stage of labor . Method(s) : This study was carried out on 250 pregnant women .In group l(n=I25) injection oxytocin was given in umbilical cord immediately after the baby was delivered and in the study group 2 (n=125) placental end of the cut umbilical cord was allowed to drain immediately after it was cut .Placenta was delivered by controlled cord traction .Intravenous methylergometrine was given in both the groups .The duration of third stage and amount of blood lost were noted Results :The mean duration of third stage was 1.92 minutes…
