Objective : ØTo evaluate the efficacy of programmed labour protocol in providing shorter, safer & relatively pain free delivery. Materials & Methods : ØStudy was conducted in deptt. of obst. & Gynae. GSVM Medical College, Kanpur. 100 women with 37 - 41 weeks pregnancy with vertex presentation in active phase of labour without any fetal or maternal complication were divided in 2 groups - 50 women received programmed labour protocol while 50 were managed expectantly & taken as controls. Results : Ø56% subjects achieved good pain relief. Onset of analgesic effect started in 15-20 minutes. No fetal & maternal complications or adverse effects were observed.
