Objectives : Threatened abortion is a therapeutic challenge to the practicing of obstetricians. Vaginal bleeding occurs in 20% of pregnancies with 1 5% ending as spontaneous abortion. The main aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of dydrogesterone in prolonging the pregnancy beyond 20 weeks of gestation. Materials and Methods : All pregnant women who came with vaginal bleeding less than 20 weeks gestation from 1s* October 2007 to 31st July 2008 were assessed and analysed .
