Introduction : Anaemia affects nearly half of all pregnant females in the world; 52% in developing countries compared with 23% in developed world. Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA), one of the major cause of anemia in pregnancy, usually caused due to poor intake and / or decreased bioavailability which primarily depends on the form of diet - haem form in vegetarians and non haem form in vegetarians. Aims and Objectives : To determine the incidence of IDA in pregnant females according to their dietary habbit. Materials and methods : All pregnant females attending ANC clinic of HCH for the first time between January 2008 - June 2008 were included in the study.
