Introduction : Amenorrhoea means “without menstruation” Primary amenorrhoea is the absence of menstruation by 16 years of age in the presence of normal secondary sexual characteristics or by 14 years if secondary sexual characters have not developed. Hidden menstruation or cryptomenorrhoea is a condition where menstruation is taking place, but the patient is unaware of it because the out flow is obstructed at the level of the cervix, vagina or vulva. Cervical stenosis (due to tuberculosis) leading to haematometra is extremely rare.
