Aim : To find out the incidence of persistant perineal pain, dyspareunia and anal incontinence following episiotomy. Materials and methods : It is a ongoing study conducted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital both in postnatal & stantenatal clinic since 1 March 2008 . In this study 800 women are included having an episiotomy during their childbirth Patients are given questionnaries regarding persistant perineal pain , dyspareunia and anal incontinence and also clinical evaluation of perineum is done . ththObservation : It is seen that 45% and 24% of women presented with persistant perineal pain at 6 week and 6 month ththrespectively following episiotomy .
