Background : Techniques used for pre-operative distinction between benign and malignant pelvic mass are unfortunately not very accurate. Frozen section can be crucial in guidance of therapy. Aims : 1. To study consistency of frozen section (FS) with paraffin section (PS) diagnosis. 2. To study accuracy and factors affecting accuracy of FS. Methods : 60 patients of pelvic mass with intra-operative FS were included. Status of malignancy (benign, Low Malignant Potential {LMPJ or malignant), tumor histology, consistency of FS and PS diagnoses; accuracy and factors affecting accuracy of FS diagnosis were evaluated. Chi square test was used for statistical analysis. Results : FS rate was 35%.
