Objective : To compare the effect of drotavarine and epidosin on duration of labor. To evaluate maternal complications and neonatal outcome. Methods : A prospective double blind randomized controlled trial was carried out on 600 women in labor visiting the KLE s Prabhakar Kore hospital over one year period. They were randomized by block randomization into 2 groups - (A) Epidosin 300 and (B) drotavarine 300. Each patient was given 3 intravenous injections (2ml).at 0 min, 30 min & 60 min and one intramuscular injection (2ml) at 0 min, 2nd dose is repeated after 2 hr if there was no progress.
