Objective : To compare and investigate outcome of clean abdominal incision by open vs occlusive dressing. METHOD: Study done on 50 patients, out of which group I (case group) had 25 patient and group 11 (control group) had-25 patient. In group 1, patients dressing was opened on 5th post operative day. In group 11 dressing continued till stitch removal. Both groups observed till stitch removal and outcome noted. Result: Basic characteristics of both the group was same. In open dressing group 80% wounds were healthy while in occlusive dressing group 36% wounds was healthy. Incidence of resuturing was 0% in open dressing group whereas 12% in occlusive dressing group.
