Aim: To evaluate the improvement in hemoglobin level in iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women after treatment with intravenous iron sucrose complex. Methods: Intravenous Iron sucrose complex 200 mg was given to 50 antenatal women with Hemoglobin level between 7-10 gm% in two sessions 48 hrs apart. Adverse drug reaction were noted and Post treatment Hemoglobin level was measured after 1 week. Result: There was significant improvement in Hemoglobin level in antenatal women treated with intravenous iron sucrose (p<0.001). Conclusion: Intravenous Iron sucrose is an efficient procedure for raising Hb level in pregnant women with iron deficiency anemia.
