The syndrome of signs and symptoms that we call as Bacterial Vaginosis is a manifestation of alteration of normal vaginal flora with the loss of normal commensal lactobacilli and overgrowth of a cluster of organisms including Gardenella Vaginalis, Bacterioids (Pervotella), Mobilincus and Mycoplasma Hominis .The incidence is very high consisting about 30% to 40% of the women seeking medical care. Majority of the women are asymptomatic and not requiring any treatment.
