Misgav Ladach (ML) Technique uses the principle of minimal sharp dissection in order to avoid severing of blood vessels and damage to viscera while opening the abdomen. in this prospective study of 160 patients, 80 were randomly allocated to Pfaimensteil method and 80 to the NIL method. The study showed shorter average operating time, lesser blood loss and lesser postoperative morbidity in the NIL method. The technique has distinct advantages in terms of speed, blood loss, use of suture materials and quality of recovery. More and more residents need to be trained in the technique along with an understanding of the rationale behind the benefits achieved.
