Introduction: Both hge & sepsis are the two main causes of material mortality in rural India Similary abortion is the maincause of hge & sepsis. So to reduce the MMR our main motto should to accept the safest method of MTP Aims & Objects : 1.To reduce the MMR in rural areas by controlling the hge & sepsis in case of MTP. 2.To make a comparative study of different methods of MTP. 3.To accept the safest method. Material & methods : The retrospective study was done in Seva Hospital Tarakeswar (W.B.), a rural set-up for a period of 5 yrs. (April'03 - March' 08) Gr-I by traditional D & C method (972 cases).
