The Background: With growing endemicity of diabetes in our country, we sought to determine the prevalence of GDM in the high risk patients and their perinatal outcome. Aims : To identify and analyse the risk factors for gestational diabetes mellitus. To evaluate maternal and perinatal outcome in women with gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods : 300 High risk antenatal patients were subjected to screening with GCT(cut off > 130mg/dl) followed by GTT . The confirmed GDM patients were then studied throughout pregnancy, maternal and neonatal complications were noted. Eventually 75 gm GTT was done after 6 wks to diagnose type-2 diabetes mellitus. Results : High risk factors were identified.
