AIMS & OBJECTIVES: To recognize and manage different complications encountered during and after cesarean section within a period of 9 years at SRH & SIMS. Materials & Methods: An analysis of 8550 patients was done at SRH & SIMS during 2000-2008.the patients who underwent cesarean section whether it was elective or emergency, cases booked or unbooked, done for various indications constituted the subject of study. The patients were analysed with respect to types of maternal morbidity encountered. Observations & Results : Total numbers of deliveries during 2000 to 2008 were 8550. Incidence of CS was 22% in our study. In cases studied, 86.6% were emergency and 13.3% were electively sectioned.
