Objective : A comparative study to determine the level of knowledge, attitude, and practice of emergency contraceptives, among medical and nonmedical students in East Sikkim. Materials & Methods: The study was conducted in Sikkim Manipal University in the month of August 2008, where in, predesigned self administrated, open ended, multiple response questionnaires were provided to the students of first year MBBS (n -58) and BBA(n-34) after proper ethical committee permission. Results : Knowledge of contraceptive methods was almost universal (90%) in both the groups of students but knowledge of emergency contraception was more (80%) in medical group than in nonmedical group (67.6%).
