Objectives : To assess the knowledge and attitude regarding family planning and the practice of contraceptives among the college students in East Sikkim and to determine of the barriers of contraceptive use among them. Material &methods : A Cross Sectional Descriptive Study was done in the Govt College, Tadong, Gangtok during the month of April 2007, in knowledge, attitude and practice of contraception of 156 students was evaluated with the help of a pre-designed questionnaire. Results : It was found that 97% (152/156) of the students had knowledge about family planning and 76.2 '/o(119/156) of them had heard about contraceptives.
