Objectives : To classify 100 cases of hypertension in pregnancy according to the modified ACOG classification and to assess the maternal and perinatal outcome. Method : 100 patients with PIH were followed up when admitted, till delivery and three months thereafter, for maternal outcome and up to 7 days for perinatal outcome. Results : Out of total 100 patients with hypertension in pregnancy in our study, 64 were primigravida's and 36 were multigravida's. Maximum patients belonged to the middle socioeconomic strata ( 44%). The study population was nearly equally divided among booked (53% ) and unbooked (47% ) cases.
