Objective: To better understand the neuropathophysiology in eclampsia and to evaluate the role of CT scan in management of eclampsia. Method: 25 pregnant women with eclampsia admitted in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, M.G.M. Medical College and M.Y. Hospital, Indore were included in the study on the basis of following criteria: (a) Pregnancy induced hypertension with or without proteinuria and oedema; (b) Convulsions in a hypertensive pregnant woman without any prior history of seizures. Result: Out of 25 patients, 18 patients (72%) showed changes suggestive of hypertensive encephalopathy; one patient (4%) had haemorrhage in head of left caudate nucleus.
