Introduction: Jaundice in pregnancy is though not very commonly encountered it is associated with a high maternal mortality, morbidity and a poor peri-natal outcome. Objective : The present study was carried out with the aims to evaluate the incidence and prevalent causes and the feto- maternal outcome in maternal jaundice. Methods : Study was a prospective study carried out from Jan. 2006 to Dec. 2007 in Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences Bilaspur, C.G. Observation : A total of 54 pregnant women were admitted with jaundice, 40 (74.O7%)were unbooked, 15 (27.77%) were rdprimigravida, 49(90.7%) were in 3 trimester.
