Introduction : In India, unplanned pregnancies and illegal abortions are high, and estimated 78% pregnancies are unplanned and 25% are definitely unwanted, despite a 'National Family Welfare Programme' and widespread efforts by the government. Lack of awareness of contraceptives is the most important cause of this pathetic state. Aim: To ascertain the awareness of emergency hormonal contraceptives (EHC) and assess the effect of health education in improving awareness in women of reproductive age at a military station in India.
