Aim: To study the effect of aniniotomy done at various stages of labor on outcome of labor. Methodology: This prospective study was conducted at Lok Nayak Hospital of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. It includes pregnant women with singleton pregnancy presenting in spontaneous labor regardless of parity or gestational age. Women were categorized into three groups: Group I -arnniotomy not performed, Group 2-amniotomy done in latent phase(further subdivided into amniotomy done at cervical dilatation of I cm, 2 cm, 3cm) and Group 3amniotomy done in active phase.
