Objectives: We sought to determirle whether paternal & maternal birth weight, their prepregnancy height an weight, educational status of both and socioeconomic status influences the birth weight of infant at term. Methods: This retrospective study was carried out in the Department of O&G, SCB MC Cuttack between OCT.2004 to OCT.2006 on one hundred term newborn infants whose parents were born between 1970-1985. Infant's birth weight was obtained from baby ticket and that of parents was obtained by interviewing them & their parents. Prepregnancy height, weight, educational status and socioeconomic status was obtained from early anteriatal record.
