Objectives :1. To know the incidence of Eclampsia 2. To know the Maternal and Perinatal outcome in eclampsia. Materials and methods: There were 82 cases of eclampsia admitted from 1/8/2007 to 31/7/2008. Magnesium sulphate was used in 81 patients and phenytoin in one patient for control of convulsions. Results: The incidence of eclampsia was 6.05%. Majority (52.43%) of patients were in the age group of 15-20 yrs. There were 69(84%) cases of antepartum eclampsia and 12 (14.63%) were post partum eclampsia, 1(1.2%) was intrapartum. Among 82 cases, 64 (64.63%) were primigravida and 18 were multigravida. Out of 82 patients, 31(37.8%) were in the gestational age of 28-32 weeks.
