From the abstract

Aim : To study the effect of maternal hemoglobin and S. Ferritin level on midpregnancy placental volume and to see the effect of maternal age, height, weight on midpregnancy placental volume. Method : This was a prospective study done on 50 women with a singleton pregnancy within affixed protocol; were recruited at 16-20 weeks gestation. For each case, Hb, S. Ferritin level and single USG Placental volume were performed. Result : Placental volume was found to be inversely related to maternal Hb and S. Ferritin levels and this relation was statistically significant.
