Objective: To compare the efficacy of Contraction Stress Test and Fetal blood sampling for intrapartum fetal surveillance. Procedure: 200 patients in term labour were selected based on selection criteria and were subjected to contraction stress test. These results were correlated using the Kreb's scoring system for contraction stress test. Those women with a Kreb's score of 7 or less ,indicating fetal compromise were subjected to scalp blood pH estimation. Mode of delivery, fetal outcome including NICU admission, morbidity and mortality were analysed.Fetal blood sampling has its own limitations and is not universally available.
