"The aim of obstetrics is that every pregnancy should culminate in a healthy mother in possession of a healthy baby." In every society mother & babies constitute a priority group. In India women of child bearing age (15-45 y) constitute 22% of the populations. India shows staggering maternal deaths of 77000 annually making nearly 20% of maternal deaths in the world. For every maternal death 10-15 women survive only to suffer maternal morbidity The high percentage of maternal mortality & morbidity specially in referred cases prompted me to do a study on antenatal referred cases in 3rd trimester The study was done from July 2006 to July 2008 in SAIMS Department of obstetrics & Gynecology…
