Aims & objectives: To identify the place of MRI in obstetric practice. Material & methods: 31 cases of high risk pregnancy with or without congenital anomalies screened with ultrasound were subjected to MR imaging. All the cases were referred from our hospital to Balabhai Nanavati hospital & were interpreted by expert radiologists. The cases included patients with CNS, spinal, thoracic, genitourinary abnormalities, patients with multifetal pregnancy, adenexal masses in pregnancy, with abnormal presentations, liquor abnormalities and abnormalities of placentation. Results and conclusions: Ultrasound and MR imaging are complementary imaging methods in the evaluation of high-risk pregnancy.
