From the abstract
Objective : To study the impact of Janani Suraksha Yojana on maternal mortality in tertiary care referral hospital. Method : This study was a retrospective ,comparative study of obstetric admissions availing facility of Janani Suraksha Yojana in from July 06 to December 06 and July 07 to December 07. Results : There was increase in number of obstetric admissions from 1337 to 3891 and total number of deliveries increased from 1184 to 3517. There was overall decline in maternal mortality from 1184/lakh in 2006 to 909/lakh in 2007.
