Method : In a prospective observational study of Four hundred patients with suspected fetal distress were recruited and monitored with Fetal Scalp Stimulation Test [FSST]. FSST was done every 30 minute till delivery. Inclusion criteria : Women with singleton pregnancy, > 37 weeks Period of gestation (POG) with cephalic presentation, In Active labor, With clinical diagnosis of fetal distress [women with fetal heart rate <110 or >180 with or without meconium stained liquor]. Outcome measures : Correlation of Non reactive FSST with Umbilical artery pH and base deficit at birth and Apgar score at 1 min and 5 min. Neonatal intensive care unit admission [NICU] and asphyxia related complications.
