Background : Jaundice during pregnancy presents a challenge to obstetrician and physician alike - and more so in developing countries. The obstetrician is faced with the disastrous complication of worsening hepatic function in addition to high maternal and fetal mortality rate. Objective: (a) To find the incidence of jaundice during pregnancy; (b) To find out the possible etiological factors of jaundice during pregnancy; (c) To study the effect of jaundice in pregnancy and its maternal and fetal outcome.
