Introduction: Epidural Volume Extension (EVE) is a technique in which spinal anesthesia is induced with a small dose of intrathecal local anesthetic and opioid to produce a limited block which can be extended with epidural volume extension using either a local anesthetic or normal saline. The aim of this study was to study the effect of EVE with two different volumes of normal saline in non pregnant patients. Methods: Total 45 patients undergoing elective vaginal hysterectomy were included in this prospective randomized single blinded study. They were randomly divided into 3 groups of 15 each. Group1 received sub arachnoid blockade (SAB) with 1.5 ml 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine.
