Introduction : Tumor-induced osteomalacia (TIO) is a rare paraneoplastic syndrome associated with mesenchymal tumors and characterised by hypophosphatemia due to impaired renal reabsorption of phosphorus mediated by Fibroblast Growth Factor-23(FGF-23). We hereby present the anaesthetic concerns of severe hypophosphatemia and its sequelae through our experience in two cases of TIO due to fronto-ethmoidal tumors. Case-reports and discussion: Both these patients were middle-aged males presenting with severe proximal myopathy. Routine diagnostic work-up didnot reveal the etiology except for severe hypophosphatemia and increased urinary excretion of phosphorus.
