Congenital factor XIII deficiency is a very rare autosomal recessive bleeding disorder associated with a characteristic pattern of neonatal hemorrhage and a lifelong bleeding diathesis. Surgeries in them require a good teamwork between anesthesiologist, surgeon and hematologist. We report a case of 13yr old female with known congenital factor XIII deficiency who presented with an acute abdomen. She had an ovarian hematoma and was posted for laparoscopic evacuation. We discuss the problems concerning preoperative preparation, introperative management and postoperative care in a congenital factor XIII deficiency patient undergoing elective surgery.
