There is no doubt that the delivery of surgical care affect lives of millions of people around the world. As WHO had reported, an estimated 234 million major surgeries are performed worldwide each year, translating to around 1 out of 25 persons would have at least one surgical experience in his lifetime. Personally, I have been under the knife three times in span of 50 years. And as medical intervention improves, people live longer and we now have more geriatric patients that would eventually need surgery. Henceforth, the impetus to improve health care delivery evolves.
