From the abstract

Starch is a polysaccharide carbohydrate consisting of large number of glucose monosaccharide joined together by glycoside bonds. Starch contains naturally occurring nutrient, carbohydrates, in abundance. Starch solutions are used in clinical medicine as an intravascular filling fluid. Total body water (TBW) is 60% of total body weight. Fluid is localized as intracellular and extra cellular separated by cell membrane. Intracellular volume (ICV) consists of 40% of total body water and extra cellular volume differentiates to intravascular and interstitial separated by capillary membrane.
