This study investigated toxic impacts of lead, zinc and cadmium in various dilutions of the effluent of battery manufacturing. The responses of malonaldehyde (MDA), reduced GSH and catalase (CAT) enzymes in gill, liver and kidney of Channa punctatus were determined. Lipid peroxidation contents increased significantly in the gill (p<0.001), liver (p<0.005) and kidneys (p<0.005) and reduced GSH levels decreased significantly in gill (p<0.001), liver (p<0.005) and kidney (p<0.005). Effluent treatment caused a significant decrease in the activities of CAT in gill, liver and kidneys (p<0.01, 0.1 & 0.1) of the fish.
