Reduction of dissolved phosphates in Pasig River water was accomplished by precipitation method using calcium chloride. This resulted in significant increase in dissolved oxygen (DO) and decrease in biological oxygen demand (BOD) and total coliform. The levels of correlation using Pearson’s Correlation Analysis of the four parameters, namely, dissolved phosphates, dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), and total coliforms after the application of calcium chloride showed that phosphate level is highly positively related to biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and total coliforms, and highly negatively related to dissolved oxygen (DO).
