From the abstract
The paper describes the basin of Mexico and explains its biogeography and social history. It analyses the problematic in this area, in particular, how the use of hydro resources in the basin of Mexico has negatively impacted the environment, causing an ecological imbalance caused by the urbanization process and demography. It illustrates the transformation of the landscape, hydrological dynamics and population dynamics as a socio- environmental process.
