Gujarat State represents varied assemblages of physiographic and geomorphic landscapes, underlying its diverse geological formations. It has extreme climate patterns resulting in different hydrological features, reflected in wide-ranging water resources availability in terms of quality and quantity, both in space and time. The accelerated pace of industrialization and urbanization process, mainly of last two decades, had extensive consequence on overall water resources development scenario.
