From the abstract

Frequently, it is implicated in subfertility. Prior literature suggests that inositol, along with other micronutrients, plays an important role in human reproduction. By increasing the action of insulin in patients with the PCOS, inositol improves ovulatory function and lipid profile and decreases serum androgen levels and blood pressure. In addition, the B group vitamins are the most important dietary determinants of homocysteine, which counteract the homocysteine increasing effect seen with metformin therapy. Folic acid addresses issues of oocyte quality, maturation, and implantation. Low serum vitamin D concentrations are associated with insulin resistance and obesity in PCOS.
