Objective : Role of optical spectroscopy in detection of early cervical neoplasia. Compare the efficacy of optical spectroscopy with that of pap smear, colposcopy and histopathology Material and Methods : 214 patients attending the OPD & ward of Obs & Gynae Department, GSVM Medical College, Kanpur were studied. Cytology was done for all patients Out of this 165 colposcopic examinations were done, 148 patients with suspected colposcopic findings were subjected to colposcopy directed biopsy. Biopsy tissue of 46 patient were sent to laser spectroscopy lab, Department of Physics, IIT, Kanpur.
