From the abstract

Analgesic effects of Clonidine in Spinal Anaesthesia has stimulated researchers to examine its analgesic effects in Regional Anaesthesia. Material and Methods: Brachial plexus block by supraclavicular approach using 0.5% Bupivacaine, 2% Lignocaine and 150µgm (1 ml) Clonidine under complete aseptic precautions. Result and Conclusion: Duration of analgesia lasted for more than 8 hours and complete motor paralysis lasted for 2 hours. Thus, use of clonidine as an adjuvant to local anaesthetic in single shot brachial block prolongs the duration of analgesia, giving patient longer pain free period
