Background: One of the most complex areas of gynecology is that of ovarian tumors, challenging surgeons because of its inaccessibility for clinical & investigative procedures, greater range & variety of tumors with an uncertain origin, no known premalignant lesion, variability in rate of disease progression & absence of appropriate screening. One third of female malignancies is that of ovary, contributing to 3 % of all malignancies, 6% deaths in females, with a lifetime risk of 1 to 1.5 % & that dying from ovarian cancer is 0.5 %.
