Objectives: 1.To see the incidence of abruption-placentae. 2.To study the risk factors, maternal & fetal outcome in these patients. Study Design: Retrospective observational study Material And Methods: Case records of all women diagnosed to have abruption from January 2006 to June 2008 were analyzed. Results : •Total deliveries in this period were 3093, of which 60 women had ante parturn hemorrhage. •32 of these were due to placental abruption (incidence 1.03%). •2 were teenage rest were between 20-29 years. •19 patients (59.4%) were multigravida, while 13(40.6%) were primi pregnancies. •17 were < 34 weeks pregnancies, 4 were 34-37 weeks & 11 term pregnancies.
