Introduction: Obstetric hemorrhage complicates 10% of pregnancies globally. In the United Kingdom it is third most common cause of direct maternal mortality. There is apprehension that the risk of major obstetric hemorrhage is going to rise. CEMACH (2000-2002) recommended that every unit should have a local protocol for the management of MOH (i.e. blood loss > or = 1500 mis). Objectives: To look at the characteristics of women having massive obstetric hemorrhage and to find out whether we were adhering to the local management protocol and CEMACH recommendations.
