Objective: To recognize the association of vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy (<20 wks) as an indicator of high risk pregnancy with suboptimal maternal outcome. Methods: A one year prospective study conducted in Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana included 100 patients with history of vaginal bleeding < 20 wks gestation compared to 100 controls with no history of vaginal bleeding per vaginum (age and parity matched).
