Refractory status epilepticus Introduction Status epilepticus not responding to two first line drugs or to one first line and one second line drug is termed ‘refractory status epilepticus’ 1,2. Case report An 18 year old girl was admitted with complains of fever, headache for 15 days . Soon she went into uncontrolled status epilepticus. She was shifted to ICU where her investigations failed to point towards a cause for her refractory seizures. Finally her seizures gradually responded to a combination of lamotrigine. Clobazepam and valproate.
