Objective : To observe the endometrial cytological changes after using Cu IUCD Method : 100 women using Cu IUCD were studied. The women attended the PPP clinic at R.l.M.S. Imphal from April 2005 to May 2006 Endometrial aspirates, were collected only at the time of removal of the IUCD Causes of removal of the I.U.C.D. were (a) renewal of the device (b) discontinution of the contraceptive methods (C) having symptoms necessititating its removal. The aspirate was smeared and processed after fixing as in the case of Papanicolaou staining. Endometrial cells were classified as normal, inflammatory and hyperplasia (mild, moderate and severe).
